Slim Pusher Fan Install

Due to the fact that my aftermarket exhaust manifold positions the turbo pretty far out from the block, removal of the stock cooling fans was necessary. I replaced them with 12" slim fans purchased off of eBay and I mounted them pusher style to free up as much room in the engine compartment as possible. Here are some pictures of the fans.

Overall, the install was pretty straightforward with only some very minor modifications. The first thing I had to do was remove the front bumper and grille. While I was at it, I went ahead and cut my fender liner since I'll need to anyway when I go to install the motor.

I removed the intake resonator box as well.

I also had to remove the brace here in front.

I had to cut a bit on the front brace in order for the driver side fan to clear it.

I also had to cut on these upper bumper mount brackets to clear the fan shroud.

One fan mounted.

Both fans mounted, I just used zip ties.

Lots of room for the turbo setup now!

I just cut the stock plugs and soldered in some lead wire. I then routed the lead wire down to the leads coming off the fans and soldered the connections. Of course, I first verified direction and corresponding polarity.

And the final product works great!
